Get ready to showcase your absolute best! The 2026 ASGA National Sign & Graphics Awards are almost here, and it's your chance to shine!
Exciting news for everyone in the sign and graphics industry! The much-anticipated 2026 ASGA National Sign & Graphics Awards are gearing up for their grand opening, with entries set to kick off early next month. The organizing committee is diligently finalizing the award categories and putting the finishing touches on the online entry portal to ensure a seamless experience for all participants.
ASGA President, Mick Harrold, emphasizes that no matter the specialty of your business, whether it's intricate fabrication, vibrant printing, or cutting-edge digital displays, there will be a dedicated category designed to highlight your exceptional work. He advises business owners in the print, sign, and graphics sectors to start reflecting on their most outstanding projects since the last awards. Now is the perfect time to begin compiling all the necessary information and high-quality images that will impress the discerning judges.
Mark your calendars! The official entry period for this prestigious competition begins on 9 February and concludes on 24 July. For a project to be considered eligible, it must have been successfully completed between 25 July 2024 and 24 July 2026. A panel of highly respected industry experts will be appointed to meticulously judge all submissions. While the definitive list of categories won't be revealed until January, a provisional list is already available on the ASGA website to offer a helpful preview.
But here's where it gets really interesting: industry professionals also have the opportunity to contribute their expertise as judges! This biennial event consistently draws hundreds of impressive entries from across the nation, showcasing an incredible diversity of work. We're talking everything from eye-catching printed banners and innovative soft signage to dynamic vehicle wraps, meticulously fabricated signs, brilliant illuminated displays, and sophisticated digital signage.
As Mick Harrold reiterated, "Our organizing committee is currently reviewing and revising the award categories, but no matter what type of products your business produces, there will definitely be a category to suit." He further encourages aspiring entrants, "If you’re interested in entering, you can start preparing immediately by identifying your best projects, gathering photos of the completed job, and pulling together all the technical specs and details, so that you’re ready to send it in in February."
And this is the part most people miss: Harrold highlights the multifaceted benefits of participating. "As well as being a chance to benchmark your best work against the industry’s premier sign and graphics businesses, entering the awards is an opportunity to increase your brand and business profile with your customers and key industry connections, and to recognise and celebrate the contribution your team makes to your business success." He also shared a valuable insight from past participants: "In the past, entrants have also told us that assessing their work for the awards provided a valuable opportunity to review and evaluate their business goals, standards and achievements – and became a great foundation for setting team goals and agreed performance standards for the business."
The pinnacle of the event? The Gala Awards Dinner! The winners will be celebrated in grand style at the Gala Awards Dinner, scheduled to take place at the Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park, on 3 September. Mick expressed his enthusiasm, "We can’t wait to see the work entered this year, and to celebrate at the Gala Awards Dinner, which will once again be a crowning celebration of our sector as industry professionals gather in Sydney from around the country for the 2026 Visual Impact Conference & Expo."
Now, let's talk about what's truly at stake. Is this just about winning an award, or is it a crucial opportunity for businesses to validate their innovation and craftsmanship on a national stage?
