Miss Fiji Pageant Director, Ana Tuiketei, revealed that the original title holder, medical intern Dr. Peggy Ravusiro, could not finalize the necessary arrangements due to strict timelines and contractual complexities. This led to a search for an alternative representative, and Ailava Samuels was chosen.
And here's where it gets interesting: Tuiketei confirmed that Dr. Ravusiro declined the contractual obligations, leaving the door open for Samuels. Last week, the Miss Fiji Committee approached Samuels with the offer, and she formally accepted the role, taking on the same responsibilities initially intended for the title holder.
Samuels is now gearing up for the regional competition, with the full support of the Miss Fiji Pageant Committee. Tuiketei expressed her faith in Samuels' ability to represent Fiji with dignity, honor Pacific cultures, and promote her country on a larger platform.
