A Bird's-Eye View of Frontierland's Future
The latest images from @bioreconstruct on X offer a sneak peek at the upcoming Piston Peak National Park. This new area, inspired by the movie 'Cars', is taking shape right in the heart of Frontierland. But here's where it gets exciting: the park will feature an innovative ride system, designed to simulate off-road adventures. Imagineers even took a research trip to Arizona to get it just right!
The aerial view also showcases the progress on Villain Land and the iconic Big Thunder Mountain. The photo reveals a significant amount of cleared land, making way for these new attractions and their support facilities.
Piston Peak National Park: A Closer Look
The first concrete forms for Piston Peak have been strategically placed, as seen in the photo. This area, according to the 'fun map', is situated close to Tiana's Bayou Adventure and Big Thunder Mountain. The off-roading ride vehicles are sure to provide an immersive experience.
Another image highlights the utility work beginning in the former Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island, marking the start of Piston Peak's transformation.
Haunted Mansion's Makeover
Disney has filed permits for construction near the Haunted Mansion, with contractors specializing in theming and set design. The photo shows the land being cleared behind the attraction, with the queue and facade visible. An excavator is shaping the slope, leaving distinctive marks along the way.
A separate permit for the former Mike Fink Keel Boats dock near the Haunted Mansion has also been issued, with contractors specializing in scenic painting and rock carving, adding to the anticipation of what's to come.
Farewell Rivers of America, Hello New Lands
The Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island, once beloved attractions, have been permanently closed to make way for Piston Peak National Park and Villains Land. The aerial photo provides a glimpse of the vast area these new lands will occupy, extending beyond Big Thunder Mountain.
Villains Land: A Mysterious New Addition

Big Thunder Mountain's Refreshed Adventure
Big Thunder Mountain is undergoing a significant refurbishment, with new ride vehicles and updated Audio-Animatronics figures.
